    * Items below may differ depending on the release. Review Released in , Slowly We Rot brought the rapidly growing Florida death metal scene to new extremes in totally extreme heavy metal extremeness. Singer John Tardy's sub-language howl-gurgle is a big draw here, but the real payoff is the Sabbath-slow, super-phased freak-outs of "Til Death" and the title cut.

The album was originally announced with a different tracklist which omitted "Intoxicated" for "Cause of Death" and a running order that was not used on the final release: 1. Internal Bleeding 2. Godly Blessings 3. Blood Soaked 4. Suffocation 5. Slowly We Rot 6. Till Death 7. Gates to Hell 8. Words of Evil 9. Immortal Visions Deadly.

LP on g 'yellow & transparent green mixed' coloured vinyl. Obituary’s death metal debut album Slowly We Rot was a ground-breaking release at the end of the s. As one of the pioneers of this genre they created a heavy album where everything was monstrous. From their down-tuned guitar riffs, deep growls and moans and distinct tempo changes.

Nov 09,  · referencing Slowly We Rot, LP, Album, RE, MOVLP Cover looks like blurry shit, but the mastering sounds great to my ears. Adequately dynamic and the vinyl itself is nice and thick. In my opinion, this probably sounds even better than the first pressing and it's also a hell of a lot cheaper!/5().

Slowly We Rot is 14 (original 12 and 2 demos) of flithy, harsh, classic Death Metal. The first album by Obituary when they had near incomprehensible vocals and thrashy guitars. Perfect for a collector and fan of the band as other copies of the album were impossible to get your hands for a very long time!/5(58).

Honestly though, the playing is superb, and all the classics are here, 'Cause Of Death', 'Chopped In Half', 'Final Thoughts', 'Slowly We Rot', and the list goes on. With there being 15 songs on here, it's a good mix of Obituary, from Slowly We Rot, down to Back From The Dead/5(27).
